Checks & Saves

In the homebrew system I am using every check or save is a d10 plus applicable modifiers.

  • A 6 or better is a success
    • If the roll is hard the target number is 8
    • If the roll is easy the target number is 4.
    • Saves (made to resist something out of the character’s control) are usually hard.
  • If a character has an applicable ability they can add their proficiency bonus to the roll - for low levels this is just +1
  • Other modfifiers are nearly always +1 or -1 and depend upon circumstances like gear and what’s going on in the fiction.

Theo has the (standard) Fighter ability Fortitude, so he adds +1 to his save vs. fatigue. Jes just makes an unmodified d10 roll.
